Kathy Sparks contacted me this morning (6/11) announcing the arrival of her dun colt, also by *GUN SMOKE, out of her mare, Ridgetop Thule Mist (by Aladdin's Denver). "Early, early this morning, she delivered a VERY handsome dun colt :):):):):):):) He is doing fine, the vet has checked him and all is well. He was up in way less than an hour and talking to her before he was all the way out...he is very quiet and sweet right now."
At the 2007 Region3 Connemara Show, Balmullo's Billy Eliott (Gunsmoke X Balmullo's Veronica) was very handsome looking after a few awkward years and was second in a large gelding class. (7/07)
Balmullo’s Billy Eliot (*Gunsmoke X Balmullo’s Veronica [by CR Roaringwater Bay]) (now 4), who is the pony that Susan has wanted since she was a little girl (thirty-some years ago), started eventing this year. He won two baby beginner novice divisions (one at Olde Hope Farms and one at Full Moon Farm), plus a 5th at Jenny Camp, a second at Olde Hope. He was series champion of introductory test B at the Equilibrium Dressage Schooling Seiries with an average score of 72.75%. Susan says Dressage judges love him. ”After one ride the judge, a four-star level rider, said he was amazing and asked if she could have him.” He also won both Novice Horse and Novice Rider divisions at the TROT judged trail ride. Dressage Debute(2/07)Takoma Park, Md: Susan Hearn reports that Billy Elliott (Gunsmoke X Balmullo’s Veronica) made his dressage debut Feb. 11 at the tender age of 3 1/2. They did Intro A and B and came in 2nd in both classes, with scores of 68.5% and 65.5%! The judge called him a "very capable little horse." Said Susan, “I'm very proud (as far as I could tell, he was the smallest and the youngest of the horses competing). It was also his first time in an indoor arena- he was great about it, but was very curious about the handsome pony he kept seeing in the mirrors!”
