The Breeding Program:

In addition to providing breeding services to outside mares, we have produced several foals of our own. Our stock have excellent pedigrees of both Irish and American Connemaras. These bloodlines compliment each other to produce foals with the talent and temperament demanded of today's market as well as the hardiness, comformation and substance required to meet or exceed ACPS Inspection Standards and Approval.

Frozen Semen is now available from Balmullo's Beacon
To place your order,  please contact Mark & Debbie Burke (Amethyst Acres Equine Center, LLC) in Virginia at (540) 254-1017 or email deb@amethystacres.com

Our Breeding Objectives:
Read about our 40 homebreds we have produced, most of which are by the successful eventer, Balmullo's Beacon, S456 XXIII:
FFC FOALS

DISPOSITION: We produce foals that are gentle, sensible, willing, people-oriented and adaptable. A great temperament is non-negotiable in our program.

HARDINESS: Substance of body and bone with great feet, heart and lung are of primary importance.

TYPE: The market demands that we produce attractive foals with correct conformation together with true Connemara type required of reputable breeders.

 Clare Cunninghan (IL) w/Foothills Faithfilly

Amanda Glueck (KY) w/Foothills Juniper

ABILITY: We breed Connemaras that have proven themselves to be versatile, intelligent and talented. You may find Foothills and Piedmont Connemaras used for pleasure (trails, family fun), show (hunters, jumpers, dressage, western) and sport (driving, eventing, foxhunting, endurance).  Deanne Haggard (TX) w/Foothills Magnolia
SPORT: Our halfbreds are primarily Thoroughbred crosses by our Connemara stallions out of athletic, correct and sensible Thoroughbred mares. We enjoy producing these crosses for the growing market of, generally, adult women, often with careers and families, who want to be competitive, safe and successful, while having a wonderful time on their well-matched mounts (not to large, not too small, not too fast, not too slow, JUST RIGHT!). Connemara-TB crosses are a perfect combination to meet thoses needs in a variety of equestrian pursuits.  Jen on Piedmont Sundance (10/04)
