(born 3/10/05) Piedmont Roulette dun Connemara cross colt, out of Rippleshaveruffles, bay TB. Bred by Foothills Farms and Piedmont Connemaras; owned by Colette Madsen, UT.

(born 5/1/04) Smokey's Treasure dun Connemara cross colt, out of Heiress, 16.3h chestnut Holsteiner-TB. Bred and owned by Beth Fluken, CO.

He is a big boy - already in a size 74 blanket and stands a full hand over the two two yr old QH's he plays with. He's easily 15.2 at present, so we expect him to be around 16hh in no time... He is very clever, bold and brave. (12/05)

I am hoping to get some pictures dowloaded and send them along to you - Shea is nearly a yearling and he's utterly beautiful....He is a strapping colt, with a beautiful face...an open gorgeous trot and balanced canter. Literally everything I had hoped for in my last horse. (4/05)

Shea is absolutely darling...(he) is easily large pony size, nearly to that 14.2 mark if he hasn't already passed it. I need to truly measure him well. He's 9 months old and shows incredible promise in the motion department. Clearly, Heiress and Gun Smoke were a really good match. The vet is impressed with what he terms the biggest pony he's ever seen!! Shea has a lovely cadence to his canter and zips around in a balanced state over my few hills and rocky terrain. His trot can be big and floaty when he's 'up' and a nice workable rhythm otherwise.... Thank you for asking and thank you for such a good match. Beth (2/05)

(born 4/24/04) Keogh bay Connemara cross gelding, out of Comanche,14.3h gray Arab-QH. Bred and owned by Tollie Banker, KY.

Keogh is doing wonderfully.  He looks a lot like his daddy and has surprisingly matured nicely at about 15.1/15.2.  He still pretty lean but is beginning to show signs of bulking out.  When its all said and done he is going to be a very nice sized horse.

I sent him to the trainers earlier this year (Runaway Farms) for about two months.  He did very well.  I picked him up in March and have been riding him every since.  He is so much fun to ride.   He has a wonderful personality and approaches things calmly and coolly. He also has very comfortable movement.  I do not have an arena to ride in so we’ve been working in a pasture and he has done great.  I’m hoping to take him out on his first trail ride as soon as I can find someone to go with me.  He has by far surpassed my best expectations.  Sincerely, Tollie (7/07)

Vanessa, Hey!  Sorry I haven't sent you any pictures of Keogh lately.  He is so wonderful.  I got him back from the trainers in March and have been riding ever since.  He has one of the calmest easiest going personalities of any horse I have ever worked with.  Hes supper smart and really seems to enjoy working.  I really enjoy riding him! Tollie P.S.  Amazingly he is still growing.  Right now he is about 15.1 or taller and is just beginning to fill out.  (Oct 07)

ACPS Region IV - 1st place Halfbred Connemara 2 and under - This was Keogh's 1st show and he behaved perfectly and looked fabulous! 2005 photo below

2006 photo belowI've been meaning to send you an update on Keogh for about six months and today I finally got some pics of him to send. Anyway, he's doing great. He'll be two in April and is currently just over 15 hands. I have no idea where his height is coming from but I'm not complaining. As for training he's doing wonderfully. He has learned to long line and also to be ponied with his mother. I have also sat on him three times and so far he's been more interested in the person leading him than me being on his back. He is very laid back but also very smart and appears to enjoy training. Or rather I think he enjoys being the center of attention. I'm really looking forward to getting down to serious work with him in the next few years! Hope things are well with you. Tollie (3/06)

(born 5/24/03) Legolas Connemara-Thoroughbred 14.3 1/2h gelding, out of Swiffee, 15.3h bay TB.
Bred by Barbara & Seth Tousey, GA; owned by Grace Francez (AL)

Dear Vanessa, Wanted to report that Legolas continues to do well. I have taken him to a couple of combined training shows this Fall/Winter and he has performed nicely. He is always very sound-minded and certainly does not act like a “typical” 3-year-old! (Jan 07)

I acquired Legolas, a 2003 half-bred son of Gun Smoke in May of this year. Legolas is in training at Calico Farms in Grand Bay, AL. He is an amazing little horse (measured 14 H 3.5" in May) and after 60 days under saddle, he is a superstar! He is going well on the flat and over fences.

He never batted an eye in both pairs and individual cross-country at his first show on July 8 and 9, 2006.

He is a solid mount on the trails, is happy to go hack all alone in the woods and is unbothered by critters of all types (cows, ducks, goats, kids!).

I am so pleased with this fellow. I am looking to sell him in the next few months and hope to find him a suitable young rider that will take him to the top of his potential. It is very tempting to want to keep him but as I am 5' 11", we make an awkward pair!
Thank you for your time and also for maintaining a nice website. It's nice to be able to find information when you need it! Sincerely, Leighanne

(born 5/14/03) Smokey's Design red dun Connemara-Quarter Horse gelding out of Design with Pizzaz [AQHA 3430845] (by Design by Money) Bred and owned by Lorna Henard, TN (USA)

Hi Vannessa,  Just a note to let you know Smokey went to his first show a couple of weeks ago. He did quite well and we received a LOT of great comments about him. He placed third in the flat class but has not been jumping long enough to do well in jumping classes, but is coming along quite nicely. He is going to another show in Maryville next weekend.  (6/07)
Smokey is doing really well. He is a really sweet boy. The trainer told me that out of the horses that she has started this summer, that Smokey had learned the fastest and done the best! (1/07)

(born 4/17/03) Conor bay Connemara-Thoroughbred gelding out of Hattie Belew [JC# 8736226] 15.3h dk br/bay TB (by Seattle Song) Bred and owned by Marion Caldwell, Danville, KY (USA)

Conor is the perfect hunt horse – never pulls and stays with the field.  Marion '08

Conor at the blessing of Woodford Hounds at Shaker Village, KY.  Conor aka "little man" hunts 1st field with Woodford clearing the rock fences with no hesitation.
Connemaras can jump!  (Nov 07)

Conor just home from foxhunting.  I think he is a little tired! (Nov  07)
I have been busy foxhunting and last time out, Conor and I led the 2nd field.  He did pretty well as he was familiar with the fixture.  I had to encourage him a little but overall he did his best to be brave.  Not too shabby for a 4 year old.  The best thing about him is I can ride him for 3 hours and not hurt anywhere.  He is my “baby bear” horse – fits me just right. (Oct 07)

Conor went cubbing Saturday.  We were out three hours and he was great.  A little nervous but he is happy to follow along which is a blessing in the field. My elbow ligaments appreciated the gentle treatmentJ.  He followed an experienced horse over a smallish coop without a problem.  I will be hilltopping him mostly with a little coop thrown in now and again for training.  Hunting was great with coyotes playing tag team with the hounds and giving us all a good run for our money without anything getting killed (my favorite kind of hunting).

Conor did a starter CT today...He was so good considering he had never jumped a flower box before...His dressage was as good as he could do given his training/rider and the grass arena.  He has PACKER written all over him – quiet as a mouse at the show – nothing bothered him.  I’m looking forward to hill topping with him this fall and winter.  That activity will help muscle him up.  He is changing into a mature horse and is quiet the handsome dude.  I’m so proud of him, can you tell?? (7/07)
