OUR PRECIOUS PIGS

Sadly, after 5 years of enjoyment, we had to let our precious pigs move on to another home. Moonpie had figured out that over the river and through the woods was a scrumptious vegetable garden, and for desert, a flower bed. Moonie and Sweetie are now living with a local hobby farmer who he raises miscellaneous barn yard pets.

 MoonPie, the potbelly

MoonPie and Wheezy (sisters) were birthday gifts to me from my loving and thoughtful husband. I wanted them so that the horses, especially the babies, would get exposure to all sorts of animals. Horses often react severely when they happen upon a pig or boar while out on the trail and I wanted to minimize or eliminate this possibility, by advanced exposure (and it worked).

Moonie is kind of shy (I think she has low self-esteem) but she loves Charlie...and of course, food!

 ... and SweetPea
SweetPea was dropped off at a farm in Cleveland, where she was then cared for until a suitable home could be found. Along came the Morgans! After Wheezy's disappearance, MoonPie longed for one of her own kind. Although SweetPea is not a pure pot-bellied, Moonie and quickly accepted her and are now best of friends (except at feeding time).

For the first couple weeks at FFC, however, SweetPea thought she was a Canine rather than a Swine. She rolls over to be petted on the belly and chases cars down the driveway with the Corgi. We were told that she is housebroken, but we haven't tested that yet!
